Located on the former estate of the Desvalls family, we will discover a neoclassical 18th century garden and a romantic garden dating from the end of the 19th century. This park is a forgotten green treasure, somewhere completely different, and far removed from the typical tourist attractions that Barcelona offers to her visitors. Designed in 1792 by Domenico Bagutti, it is an excellent example of accurate and careful gardening, especially since the 19th century when it was joined by a romantic garden with many flowerbeds, squares, trees and even a waterfall. In total, 55 acres partially landscaped that follow the tendence and the preference for the neoclassical and romantic gardens of the era. The hidden nature of the park will ensure we discover a romantic place full of hidden corners, and at the same time, we will be able to admire the different neo-classical sculptures that immerse us in the mythological stories of the ancient Greece. We will have a walk, we will lose ourselves in the eponymous labyrinth of the park, we will relive the story of Ariadne and Theseus, we will run away of the Minotaur, we will delight in the beauty of the park's ponds recalling the story of Echo and Narcissus... And finally, we will be inspired hand-in-hand with Apollo and his muses. A heaven of peace, away from the conventional tourism that characterizes the city, this is the perfect place to discover the Barcelona of the Neoclassicism and Romanticism while taking the opportunity to relax and take breath away from the hustle and bustle of the city. |
